NAHCO lands Air France ticketing contract

The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) has secured a 5-year ticketing agreement with Air France-KLM, expanding its footprint in Nigeria’s international aviation market.
This deal marks a significant development for NAHCO, as it moves beyond traditional ground handling services and into airline commerce.
NAHCO‘s subsidiary, NAHCO Travel & Hospitality Limited, will sell Air France-KLM tickets in Nigeria and manage the airline group’s City Ticketing Office sales and retail ticket distribution across the country.
The agreement gives NAHCO a broader role in the commercial chain connecting international airlines with passengers and travel businesses.
Rather than limiting its ticketing relationship with Air France-KLM to airport ticket offices, NAHCO will now participate in the wider distribution of the airline group’s tickets across the Nigerian market.

The development provides NAHCO with an additional revenue opportunity within the aviation value chain as the company seeks to diversify its business beyond conventional ground-handling services.
Saheed Lasisi, group executive director, commercial and business development at NAHCO, said the transition from handling terminal ticketing activities to full commercial ticketing and distribution across Nigeria reflected Air France-KLM‘s confidence in the company’s capabilities and market reach.
For NAHCO, the agreement potentially places its travel and hospitality subsidiary closer to the revenue-generating side of the airline industry, complementing its established operational relationships with carriers.
They have traditionally provided ramp handling, passenger handling, baggage services, and cargo processing, but have increasingly sought to build businesses beyond core airport-handling activities.
Its portfolio now extends into travel and hospitality, logistics, energy, airport management, and commodity exports, reflecting a diversification strategy aimed at expanding commercial exposure across aviation and related sectors.
The Air France-KLM arrangement adds another dimension to that strategy by positioning NAHCO as a distribution partner rather than solely as an aviation services provider.

Through its existing presence in Nigeria’s aviation and travel market, NAHCO will provide Air France-KLM with a wider local sales network while gaining a direct role in connecting the airline group with travelers and travel management companies purchasing international air tickets.
The 5-year tenure provides a relatively long horizon for the company to develop the ticketing business, deepen its distribution relationships, and potentially demonstrate the viability of commercial services beyond traditional handling operations.
The agreement comes as international airlines operating in Nigeria continue to rely on a combination of direct channels, online platforms, travel agencies, and corporate travel management companies to reach passengers.
NAHCO‘s expanded role gives Air France-KLM another local distribution channel while allowing the Nigerian company to participate further along the passenger journey—from airport handling to ticket sales.
It is a significant step.
