Welsh Chocolatiers Win Emerging Enterprise Award

A Welsh chocolate business has won a prestigious World Confectionery Award. Epicurean Chocolatiers, founded by pastry chefs Robin and Rosie Evans, took home the Emerging Enterprise of the Year title at the World Confectionery Conference in London, presented to them on Thursday 10th September.
The couple launched their premium chocolate brand just a year ago from their Bala, North Wales, workshop. Their vision: to create exceptional handcrafted chocolates using the finest ingredients, rapidly evolving from a kitchen-table start-up into a luxury brand supplying both consumers and luxury hospitality venues across the UK.
Their collections showcase Welsh provenance, featuring ingredients like Halen Môn sea salt, local honey, Welsh whisky, and sparkling wine, paired with the world’s finest chocolate and flavorings. Rosie, from Llanidloes, brings specialist chocolate and pastry skills, while Robin, 26, from Neston, Cheshire, has experience at prestigious establishments like The Ritz and Hélène Darroze at The Connaught.

The World Confectionery Awards, now in their fifth year, recognize companies under five years old making their mark in the sector. Judges praised the couple for their commitment to sustainable and local sourcing, highlighting their clear policy in this area.
Neill Barston, Editor of Confectionery Production magazine, commended the couple for their passion and success in balancing a thriving business with family life, noting that their story exemplifies the celebration of success at all tiers of the industry.
This award adds to their growing recognition, as they’re also finalists in the Made in Wales Awards and the Great British Food Awards. Robin expressed his delight, stating that winning such accolades makes the hard work of building a business while raising a young family worthwhile.
